The wild Ranthambore National Park looks different in every season. This park is an amazing spot where animals live freely in their natural habitat. This is a Jungle which has trees, lakes, birds, and animals that live and breathe together. The park offers people to go there and see the wildlife and beauty of the area through thrilling safari rides. But people get confused about when they should visit this area.

The park doesn’t stay the same all year. It keeps changing – just like the way humans change their clothes according to different weather conditions. So, let’s know how Ranthambore National Park looks, feels, and sounds in summer, monsoon, and winter.

Winter Season – Calm & Pleasant Experience

The winter season in Ranthambore feels pleasant for the safari ride. The morning safari feels a bit cold, and the evening safari feels pleasant. This season starts from October and ends in mid-March. The temperature of the area ranges between 8°C to 25°C.

The Look of Forest – In the early morning, tourists can feel the soft light with fog. The sunrise feels amazing, and the forest looks amazing at that time. The weather remains perfect for the ride- not too hot and not too cold. Tourists can really enjoy a pleasant Ranthambore safari during the winter season. The forest area remains green – neither too dry nor too green.

The Wildlife Sightings – Winters is one of the best seasons to enjoy a thrilling and adventurous ride in Ranthambore National Park. Animals remain active, and they come out from deep areas to enjoy the sun.  Tigers and leopards can be seen walking on the warm tracks after sunrise. Deer, sambars, and langurs are easily seen inside the park, roaming around grazing. And, this season is especially good for the birdwatchers. During the winter season, people can spot lots of migratory birds near the lakes. You might get a chance to see birds like painted storks, ducks, and pelicans. Animals also remain active, and they can be seen playing with each other.

The Feel of Winter Safari –  The beautiful Padam Talao lake looks stunning in winter, with reflections of trees and birds flying above it. When you go for a Ranthambore Safari during winter, it feels magical. Just remember to go inside the park in warm clothes, as the weather can be a bit cold. The best part about a safari in winter is that you can experience the thrill of spotting animals in green surroundings. You never know which animal might appear, and it makes the ride exciting.

Summer Season – The Dry & Hot Weather

The summer season in Ranthambore starts around mid-March and it lasts till the end of June. During the summer season, the Ranthambore National Park remains dry, and you can see the golden dry leaves all around. These months are the hottest as the temperature of the area can go even above 40°C.

The Look Of Forest – From the start of April, the green leaves of the trees start to fall down. So, most of the trees look dry. The grass and other greenery of the park turn yellow because of the heat. The safari ground looks dusty because of the temperature. Everything looks still and quiet. This is a good time to visit the park because the dry look has its own beauty, and you can see the real and raw look of the Jungle.

The Wildlife Sightings – No doubt, summer is the best time to spot animals. This is the time when most of the wildlife enthusiasts come for a Ranthambore Safari adventure. Because of the heat, animals can be seen easily as they come out to drink water and play in lakes and ponds. The wild animals also remain thirsty like humans, and thus they can be easily seen near the waterholes during the summer season. If you wait quietly around a waterhole, you might see a tiger walking slowly to drink water or even taking a dip in the water to cool down. Along with tigers, other animals like deer, crocodiles, leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, chital (spotted deer), etc., can also be seen. Animals are easily spotted during this time because there’s less greenery.

The Feel of Summer Safari – This is the best time to spot animals, but the safari experience can be uncomfortable if you go unprepared. The temperature remains high during this time, so it could be a problem for those who don’t like the summer season. If you’re a true wildlife enthusiast and wanna see the animals, then go inside the park after using the sunscreen. Also, keep a water bottle and wear light, comfortable clothes.

Monsoon Season – Greenery & Freshness

After the summer season, the Ranthambore National Park experiences the rainy season. This season arrives in July and ends in late September. This season changes everything in the park. The dry land becomes muddy because of rain, and the leaves turn green. The forest feels fresh, and it smells good because of the rainwater.

The Look Of Forest – The raindrops make the smell of soil so good that you’ll feel amazing during the ride. It works like a natural perfume. The dry trees start growing new green leaves, and the brown area becomes green again. Little flowers also start blooming everywhere, and the safari feels amazing. You can take amazing pictures if you come to the area during this time. Ranthambore looks like a big green painting during the monsoon.

The Wildlife Sightings – Only the buffer zone remains open for safari during this time, and it might also remain closed due to the rain. Making Ranthambore Safari Booking for this season may not be a good idea. Because of the rain, animals get plenty of food and water, and they remain deep inside the jungle. The animal sightings become a bit rare. However, you can see deer and antelopes enjoying the fresh grass. You might also get a chance to see peacock dancing in the rain (they really do that!) and birds singing happy songs. But a safari during this time can be risky because of the sloppy safari routes, so the park might remain closed.

The Feel of Monsoon Safari – The air remains cool, and you’ll feel refreshed here. The smell of soil feels amazing during the Ranthambhore Safari, and you can see greenery all around. You can feel tiny drops of rain on your face as you drive through the misty forest paths. However, do check with the park authorities if the park is open.

In the End

Every season in Ranthambore offers a different and exciting safari experience. People can make the booking according to their preference.
