By the end of May 2025, Ranthambore collected ₹72.49 crore through tourist activities. This amount is ₹12 crore higher compared to the same time in the previous year. This growth in income shows that tourism is not only supporting wildlife but is also helping the local economy.

Tourism in Ranthambore gives jobs to many people living nearby. People working as safari drivers, forest guides, hotel staff, shopkeepers, and sellers of local items earn their living through visitors. When tourists pay for Ranthambore safaris, stay in hotels, eat at restaurants, and buy local products, that money supports many families. This helps improve their daily life.

There are two main reasons why Ranthambore tourism is seen as very important. It helps protect the forest and wild animals. At the same time, it gives employment and income to people living in and around the area. This is why the increase in tourist numbers is seen as a positive thing. It helps both nature and the people who live near the forest.

Rainy Season Information (Monsoon Update)

Ranthambore National Park has some important rules during the rainy season. Every year, from 1st July to 30th September, the main areas of the park are closed for visitors. These main areas are called core zones, and they are numbered from Zone 1 to Zone 5. The reason for the closure is that this time is the monsoon season in Rajasthan. During these three months, it rains a lot, and the forest becomes very wet.

Because of the heavy rains, the roads inside the park become muddy and slippery. The rivers and small water streams inside the forest get filled with rainwater. It becomes dangerous to drive or walk in the forest during this time. So, to keep everyone safe, safaris are not allowed in these core zones from July to September.

When the core areas are closed in the rainy season, it helps animals and the forest a lot. The trees and plants grow well in the rainy season, and the animals can move around freely without people or gypsies around them. This time gives them peace and rest.

However, there are other zones in Ranthambore which are called buffer zones. These are Zones 6 to 10. These zones do not get affected as much by the rain, so they remain open for tourists. Ranthambore safaris can still happen there with some safety rules. This helps tourism continue in a limited way while the main zones remain closed.

Year-By-Year Tourist Growth

The big number of tourists in 2025 is not by luck. It is the result of good work over many years. The number of tourists visiting Ranthambore National Park has been going up almost every year. The data from past years shows how the park has grown in popularity.

In 2018-19, a total of 4,61,899 tourists visited the park. Out of them, 1,49,010 were foreign visitors. In 2019-20, the number was 4,35,386 tourists, including 1,42,953 foreigners. In 2020-21, the number fell to 1,93,092 visitors. This big drop happened because of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, travel was not allowed in many places, and people were afraid to go out.

In 2021-22, the situation improved. That year, 3,59,000 tourists came to Ranthambore. This showed that tourism was starting to recover. In 2022-23, the number went up again. The park welcomed 5,53,000 visitors that year. Then in 2023-24, 54,786 more tourists came compared to the previous year. Many people started coming back to natural places and forests, which means their interest has increased again.

When we look at these numbers, it is clear that Ranthambore National Park is getting popular year after year. The forest staff, local people, and tourism officials have all worked hard to manage the park well. They have kept it clean, safe, and attractive for visitors. They have also protected the animals and maintained the balance of nature. This has helped bring more people to the park every year.
